正確的表達(dá)是

What time is it, please?

What time is it now?是我們中式思維下得出的翻譯，講英語的時(shí)候其實(shí)不要說now，因?yàn)楫?dāng)你問出這句話時(shí)就是在問現(xiàn)在，在沒有附加信息的情況下，你不可能問明天幾點(diǎn)了?或者昨天幾點(diǎn)了?所以加上now在老外看來純屬多此一舉。

那什么時(shí)候可以加now呢?

當(dāng)你問：跟你所在地有時(shí)差的地方現(xiàn)在時(shí)間時(shí)會(huì)加now比如，你在國(guó)外問北京現(xiàn)在的時(shí)間：

What time is it in Beijing (right) now?

現(xiàn)在北京什么時(shí)間呢?

“Say when”不是“說什么時(shí)候”

Say when is a phrase someone utters when pouring a drink for someone else, or pouring a liquid such as cream or syrup upon someone else s food, or adding an ingredient such as Parmesan cheese or pepper to a dish at the table.

Say when經(jīng)常用在給別人倒飲料，或者把奶油或糖漿之類的液體倒在別人的食物上，或者在給菜加芝士或胡椒之類的配料時(shí)。

所以在飯店，服務(wù)員在給你斟酒或者倒水的時(shí)候，會(huì)對(duì)你說say when，意思是說什么時(shí)候不要了，招呼一聲，他就停止不倒了!

例：

How much whisky do you want? Say when.

你要多少威士忌酒?夠了請(qǐng)告訴我。

“時(shí)間不夠”不是“The time isn't enough”

正確表達(dá)：

There isn't enough time. ?

We don't have enough time. ?

為什么說“Time isn't enough”是錯(cuò)的?

有兩個(gè)原因，一是客觀原因，時(shí)間不是實(shí)物，不會(huì)不夠，只是我們覺得它不夠被我們用而已;二是語法，只有句子中主語是代名詞的時(shí)候，enough才能做補(bǔ)語。比如 it/there/that/this，enough可以直接出現(xiàn)在后面，比如“That's enough.夠了”。

例：

兩天時(shí)間恐怕不夠我們游覽所有名勝古跡。

I am afraid two day's time is not enough for us to see all the place of interest.
