“box office”與“箱子、辦公室”沒有任何關(guān)系！

意思是：the economic benefits of a film

指電影、戲劇等因賣票而獲得的經(jīng)濟(jì)效益，即“票房”

雖然含有“票”字，但它的英文表達(dá)中并沒有ticket

“ticket office”通常表示“售票處”

The movie is a huge hit at the box office.

這部電影的票房相當(dāng)不錯(cuò)。

“huge hit”在這里指巨大成功

相反，

This movie was a big flop at the box office.

這部電影的票房太慘淡了。

“flop”經(jīng)常指作品、演出等的失敗

如果想表達(dá)“票房飄紅”，可以這么說：

或者說某部電影非常賣座
