shop around

貨比三家

You can get a good buy by shopping around.

貨比三家才能買到好東西。

對話

A:The shoes you bought are cheap and in good quality.

你買的鞋質(zhì)量好又便宜。

B:Yes,I shopped around and then bought them.

是的，我是貨比三家之后才買的。

repeat customer

回頭客
 

Mr.Smith is the repeat customer of our restaurant.

史密斯先生是我們餐館的回頭客。

對話

A:Can you give me a discount?

能打個折嗎?

B:We can provide you a 10% discount,considering that you are our repeat customer.

考慮到你是我們的回頭客，我們可以給您打九折。

還可以用frequent customer或frequenter表示回頭客

其中frequent的意思是“經(jīng)常的”

正牌(貨)
 

The sweater is authentic.

這件毛衣是正牌貨。

對話

A:I think the price is a little high.

我覺得價錢有點高。

B:But it is authentic.

但這是正牌貨啊。

fake

冒牌(貨)
 

This painting is a fake.

這幅畫是冒牌貨。

對話

A:The diamond you wear is really beautiful.

你戴的鉆石真好看。

B:It is a fake.

它是冒牌貨。

“冒牌貨”也就是“贗品”，還可以用counterfeit表示

這個單詞相對來說較正式一些

brand-name product

名牌商品
 

大家通常都會將“名牌商品”理解為“有名的商品”

所以會錯誤地認為它的英文表達就是famous goods

而實際上地道表達應(yīng)該是brand-name product

My colleague Lily likes buying brand-name products.

我的同事莉莉很喜歡買名牌商品。

對話

A:This jacket is too expensive.

這件夾克太貴了。

B:But it is a brand-name product.

但這是名牌啊。

區(qū)分：

“名牌商品”是brand-name products

而商品的“品牌”是brand name

注意不要把二者搞混了

regular price

原價
 

I bought a pair of shoes at the regular price.

我花原價買了一雙鞋。

對話

A:What is the regular price of this book?

這本書原價多少錢?

B:Thirty yuan.

30元。

如果要表示“固定價格”可以用fixed price

The customer and developer negotiate a fixed price for the project.

客戶和開發(fā)人員協(xié)商項目的固定價格。

secondhand store

二手店
 

“二手店”的英文表達可以直譯

“第二個”second，“手”hand，“店”store

就構(gòu)成了secondhand store

I always go shopping at the secondhand store on weekends.

我周末的時候經(jīng)常去二手店買東西。

對話

A:This cabinet is beautiful.Where did you buy it?

這個柜子真好看。你在哪兒買的?

B:I bought it at a secondhand store.

我在一家二手店買的。

“商店”的種類除了secondhand store外

還有“百貨商店”department store

“零售店”retailer

“專賣店”specialty store等
