美國人對(duì)蘋果情有獨(dú)鐘，把New York稱之為the Big Apple或the Apple。這個(gè)別稱的來歷有一種說法是：曾經(jīng)有群爵士樂師們經(jīng)常到各地做巡回演出。他們把要去的地方描述成樹上的蘋果，演出賺錢就像去摘蘋果。紐約是當(dāng)時(shí)這些城市中賺錢最多的。各城鎮(zhèn)都叫apple，紐約當(dāng)然是the Big Apple了。
