402　grow, keep和plant能否都表示“種植”

1　grow 作不及物動(dòng)詞時(shí)，表示“生長(zhǎng)”，作及物動(dòng)詞時(shí)，表示“種植”，賓語(yǔ)通常是蔬菜、水稻、果樹(shù)、花等，強(qiáng)調(diào)栽培、管理的過(guò)程。

Plants can't grow without water. 植物沒(méi)有水不能生長(zhǎng)。

Apple trees grow well here. 蘋(píng)果樹(shù)在這里長(zhǎng)得很好。

They grow vegetables and rice. 他們種蔬菜和水稻。

She grows a lot of flowers in the garden. 她在院子里種了許多花。

2　keep 表示“飼養(yǎng)，贍養(yǎng)”，為及物動(dòng)詞，后跟hen, pig, cattle, children, an old man, a family等表示人或物的名詞。

They keep pigs and cattle on the farm. 他們?cè)谵r(nóng)場(chǎng)上飼養(yǎng)豬和牛。

She keeps hens. 她養(yǎng)雞。

He has two children to keep . 他要養(yǎng)活兩個(gè)小孩。

He has a large family to keep . 他要養(yǎng)活一個(gè)大家庭。

3　plant 意為“種植”，表示“種植”這一動(dòng)作，不表示過(guò)程或結(jié)果，為非延續(xù)性動(dòng)詞，不能同表示一段時(shí)間的狀語(yǔ)連用。

They plant trees in spring. 他們?cè)诖禾熘矘?shù)。

It's time to plant cotton. 是種棉花的時(shí)候了。

He has planted wheat for ten years. （誤）

He has grown wheat for ten years. （正）他種小麥已經(jīng)10年了 。
