［注解］本句是蘇格蘭諺語(yǔ)，用bairns代指children。指愚人和小孩往往被現(xiàn)象所迷惑，不會(huì)以發(fā)展的觀點(diǎn)看事物。直譯為：活兒只完成一半，傻子和孩子都不能看。
［譯］傻子和孩子看不到將來(lái)的成就和發(fā)展。
Fools are of flittin. ( = Fond of moving.)
［注解］此諺語(yǔ)指那些沒(méi)有正當(dāng)理由而搬家、調(diào)動(dòng)工作或改變情況的人。同義諺語(yǔ)還有：Fools are fain of flitting, and wise man of sitting. 愚者愛(ài)變動(dòng)，智者喜固定。flittin=flitting遷移，搬走。fain樂(lè)意。

［注解］昔日在蘇格蘭一位杰出人物舉行的宴會(huì)上，有人對(duì)他說(shuō)了此諺語(yǔ)，他回答說(shuō)：“Wise men make proverbs and fools repeat them.”智者編寫(xiě)格言，愚者只能復(fù)述。比喻愚者總是被聰明人利用。

［譯］傻子打了結(jié)，智者來(lái)松開(kāi)；愚者找麻煩，智者來(lái)解圍。

［注解］人多眼亮，人多智廣。比喻集思廣益。
［譯］四只眼總比兩只眼看得清楚。
