　　A: Don’t make lame excuses. Let’s go to the movie.

　　B: I want to see the movie with you, but my parents want me to go see my cousin’s performance. I feel powerless to disobey them.

　　A: Don’t be spineless. Just tell your parents we already made plans weeks ago and you can’t make the performance.

　　B: I’m always week when it comes to my parents and find it hard to tell them “no.”

　　A: 別再找蹩腳的借口了。我們?nèi)タ措娪鞍伞?/p>

　　B: 我真想和你去，可我父母希望我去看表妹的演出。我覺(jué)得不能不聽(tīng)他們的話(huà)。

　　A: 別那么軟弱。就跟他們說(shuō)我們幾個(gè)星期前就約好了，你不能去看表妹的演出了。

　　B: 在我父母面前我強(qiáng)硬不起來(lái)，覺(jué)得很難對(duì)他們說(shuō)不。

　　【語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)精講】

　　lame: 瘸的，引申為不充足的，不圓滑的。

　　powerless: 無(wú)能力的，無(wú)能量的。完全沒(méi)辦法。

　　spineless: 沒(méi)有勇氣的;不敢做決定的;無(wú)骨氣的。

　　disobey: 不服從，違反。
