Lesson 21 Mad or not?

課文內(nèi)容：

Aeroplanes are slowly driving me mad. I live near anairport and passing planes can be heard night andday. The airport was built years ago, but for somereason it could not be used then. Last year,however, it came into use. Over a hundred peoplemust have been driven away from their homes by thenoise. I am one of the few people left. Sometimes Ithink this house will be knocked down by apassing plane. I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I amdetermined to stay here. Everybody says I must be mad and they are probably right.

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 此句的核心語(yǔ)法點(diǎn)是將來(lái)時(shí)的被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)，結(jié)構(gòu)為：will be done (+by...)

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 比較學(xué)習(xí)home和house:

home家(具有感情色彩)：East or west, home is the best.金窩銀窩不如自己的狗窩。. house房子(僅僅是居住的地方)

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)3 knock down =knock over 撞倒

knock out撞昏，knock off下班。

8.I have been offered a large sum of money to go away, but I am determined to stayhere.

他們提出要給我一筆可現(xiàn)的補(bǔ)償讓我搬走，但我決定留下來(lái)。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn) (1) offer作動(dòng)詞意為“提供;給予;貢獻(xiàn);愿意;出價(jià)”：

offer a few ideas提出幾點(diǎn)意見;offer to help sb.表示愿意幫助某人

(2) offer作名詞指在求職、留學(xué)申請(qǐng)等情況的錄取通知

He is expecting tiie ofifer of Harvard University day and night 他日夜都在期待著哈佛大學(xué)的錄取通知書。

9.Everybody says I must be mad and they are probably right.

大家都說(shuō)我肯定是瘋了，也許他們說(shuō)的是對(duì)的。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)1 再次強(qiáng)調(diào)，everybody作主語(yǔ)時(shí)必須視為單數(shù)形式，對(duì)應(yīng)的謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞用單數(shù)。

語(yǔ)言點(diǎn)2 probably (adv.很可能地)修飾right (adj.對(duì)的)，相當(dāng)于must be right。
