第十四章 介詞 since和through 的用法

　　1. since 自從，從……以后：

　　They have been close friends since childhood.

　　他們從小就是好朋友。

　　She has lived here since 1990.

　　她從1990 年起就在這里住。

　　I haven't been out much since coming here.

　　來(lái)這里之后我沒(méi)太出去。

　　Since when have you been working on this project?

　　你從什么時(shí)候起搞這項(xiàng)研究工作的?

　　This has been my ideal since long ago.

　　好久以來(lái)這一直是我的理想。

　　2. through:

　　l)穿過(guò)，通過(guò)(某地):

　　what's the place we're passing through?

　　我們正在經(jīng)過(guò)的是什么地方?

　　We helped her get out through the back door.

　　我們幫助她從后門(mén)逃出。

　　There is a path through the fields.

　　穿過(guò)田野有一條小路。

　　2)經(jīng)歷過(guò)：

　　She must have been through a lot.

　　她一定受過(guò)很多苦。

　　They went through many trials.

　　他們經(jīng)歷過(guò)很多考驗(yàn)。

　　She told us about the hardships she had been through.

　　她跟我們談了她受過(guò)的苦。

　　3)通過(guò)(某人或某事):

　　We learnt all this through John.

　　這一切我們都是從約翰那里知道的。

　　We learn to speak through speaking.

　　我們通過(guò)說(shuō)話(huà)學(xué)說(shuō)話(huà)。

　　He obtained the work through his own efforts.

　　他是通過(guò)自己的努力得到這份工作的。

　　4)由于：

　　The war was lost through bad organization.

　　由于組織不好，戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)打敗了。

　　They lost the match through over-confidence.

　　由于過(guò)于自信他們賽輸了。

　　5)用于某些成語(yǔ)：

　　We quickly saw through his trick.

　　我們很快看穿了他的鬼把戲。

　　So they got through it as quickly as possible.

　　于是他們盡快把它干完。

　　He began to look through the photograph album.

　　他開(kāi)始翻閱像冊(cè)。

　　She read through three of the passages.

　　她看完了三段。

　　He was ill all through November.

　　整個(gè)十一月份他都在生病。

　　I'll like you to go through my book.

　　我想請(qǐng)你把我的練習(xí)看一遍。

　　They stuck together through thick and thin.

　　他們同甘共苦一直待在一起。
